20s/30s Art Deco Vanity Set In Traveling Case Royal Blue

Each jar is 3.5 inches high.This is one of my favorite finds ever--an AMAZING art deco vanity set in a traveling case, ready to take a train to your favorite beauty spot. It's made in early plastic, perhaps celluloid or catalin--not Bakelite; it's not heavy enough for that--and it has survived in fair to good condition. The silver incised tassel motifs are fresh, and the blue color is sorich. It is photographing a bit brighter than it looks in real life; it's a deep lapis or royal shade, not electric blue.The set includes a comb, a hand mirror, a nail file, a hairbrush, two powder jars, a shoe horn, and a box for receiving hair as you brush it out ... so you can use it to make your own hair pieces or perhaps mourning jewelry.However, yes, this is a real vintage item.
