This Chenrezig statue was made in Nepal by Saroj Shakya using the lost-wax method. Cast in copper with a dark oxidized finish, the surface has a soft chocolate tone that highlights the hand-engraved details in the robes and ornaments. “Chenrezi is a fully enlightened Buddha who, in order to benefit beings, takes on the form of a Bodhisattva. All the Buddhas have but one nature, and their compassion is embodied in Chenrezi.
