Ford Econoline Steel Fuel Tank Shortening Blank

Description: Our CNC-cut steel fuel tank shortening blank for the Ford Econoline cuts down on your build time at this important stage of the 4x4 conversion. If you're trying to fit an NV/NP271 transfer case behind your E40D,4R100,4R70/75 or 5r110, you'll need to shorten the fuel tank 12-13 inches at the front of the tank to make everything fit. The front of the tank comes to a point and there is some loss of fuel capacity, but our tank-blank and instructions show the best place to cut the piece out while maintaining the functionality of your original tank straps.  This piece is cut from 12 gauge steel and is oversized just slightly to give you a nice area to weld to. This CAN be mig-welded and does not need to be tig'd. Once your tank has been welded up, you'll be coating the inside weld with Red-Kote which is both very forgiving and crucial to sealing the tank correctly.  Currently we're not offering to ship the Red-Kote, but it's available through O'Reilly and has been our choice for
