Operation Just Cause, the code-name for the United States' invasion of Panama, was a joint operation conducted by members of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Air Force. This medallion is designed to commemorate this operation. The obverse/front side is Flag-shaped and patterned after the certificate issued by General Maxwell Thurman, USA, Commander-in-Chief,  U.S. Southern Command to all participants and depicts 3D images of several assets used during the invasion. It is dated 20 December 1989 - 31 January 1990; dates officially recognized by the VA. The border is trimmed with three stripes in red, white and blue. The reverse/back side includes all four service emblems: Army/Marine Corps/Navy/Air Force Forces Panama, and the emblem of the United States Southern Command.  A gold image of the historic landmark “Bridge of the Americas” and the crossed flags of the United States and Panama are also depicted.  Operation Just Cause was successfully executed using the resources of all branche
