"The New Jersey Devils won the 1995 Stanley Cup after defeating the Detroit Red Wings. Claude Lemieux of the Devils was named the series MVP.The teams met for the championship after the Devils defeated the Boston Bruins (4-1), the Pittsburgh Penguins (4-1), and the Philadelphia Flyers (4-2), and after the Red Wings defeated the Dallas Stars (4-1), the San Jose Sharks (4-0), and the Chicago Blackhawks (4-1).The New Jersey Devils won all four games with scores of 2-1, 4-2, 5-2, and 5-2, respectively. The first game held on June 17 recorded two scores in the 2nd period by Stephane Richer (NJD) assisted by Tommy Albelin and Neal Broten, and Dino Ciccarelli (DET) assisted by Nicklas Lidstrom and Paul Coffey.
