The UEFA Euro 2020 was a quadrennial European football (soccer) championship. Defending champions Portugal, winners of the UEFA Euro 2016 in France, were eliminated in the round of 16 by Belgium. The 2020 tournament finished with a showdown between Italy and England in the final at Wembley Stadium in London. The heavily contested match ended in regulation with both teams tied to a 1-1 draw, forcing a penalty shoot-out. England came out strong in the shoot-out to a 2-1 lead, but their last three kickers missed! Rallying for a comeback, Italy won the penalty kicks 3-2.
