Mangletre Butter Dish

The Norwegian Mangletre was an ironing board used for smoothing damp linens to a glossy finish. They were marvelously carved with intricate designs and were often presented as betrothal gifts. Our version in clay will work as a festive butter holder or a decorative wall hanging as it repeats the circular chip-carved designs and the distinctive horse handle of the original. Comes with a wooden butter knife. This butter dish is 2 3/4 inches tall at the top of the horse and 9 3/4 inches in full length with 5 3/4 inches available to hold butter.
