Bottled Mentaiko (Cod roe)

Tarako and mentaiko are traditional Japanese seafood ingredients. Tarako is plain cod roe, and Mentaiko is marinated cod roe with a spicy flavor.  This bottled mentaiko is marinated in cottonseed oil to keep the flavor of mentaiko best. It was awarded the Special Jury Award at the Seasoning Championship 2022!  It goes well with rice and bread. My favorite is to mix it with spaghetti with some soy sauce and butter to make the famous mentaiko spaghetti!
