They have orange or red scales with a long, slender body and a straight tail. They range in size from .75 inch to 12 inches. While most common goldfish are orange or red in color, they can also be solid black or white, or have black and white patterns on an orange body. Comet goldfish do well in aquariums, tanks and ponds and can be mixed with other straight tailed goldfish.
