Country: France Region: Burgundy Type: Red Wine Grape: Aligote/Gamay (Co-Ferment) Benoît Kilian is a musician who sold wine for 15 years and was part of organizing the natural wine fair “Les Reunions Tu Peux R’Boire." Benoît jumped on the incredible opportunity to purchase a 2 hectare vineyard surrounded by nothing but woods and orchards. He saw great potential in the completely chemical free vineyard, with its oldest vines planted in 1919. Thus La Côtelette was born. Today Benoît farms pinot noir, gamay, chardonnay, aligoté, and melon de bourgogne organically and practices biodynamics as well. In the cellar, he uses only grapes, indigenous yeasts, and doesn't filter his wines. The wines of Domaine de la Côtelette are incredibly pure, precise and tiny production.  A delicious light-bodied blend of 60% Aligoté and 40% Gamay, with whole bunches immersed in Gamay juice which ferments during the 10 days of vatting.
