Ajuga reptans 'Valfredda' Valfredda (trade name Chocolate Chip), is most noted for its extremely dwarf habit and chocolate-colored leaves with purple highlights. It requires about 3-4 hours of sun per day to produce its blue flowers. Performs best if not exposed to hot afternoon sun. Not as fast-growing as some other ajugas; use in small areas. For quick cover, space plants 6" - 9" apart. Soggy conditions will give it crown rot.       *Deer Seldom Browse*         Attracts: Bees, Butterflies & Birds Photo courtesy of Classic Groundcovers in Athens, GA & Flowerwood Wholesale Nursery in Loxley, AL Ornamental Characteristics Category Perennial, flowering ground-cover Foliage Type Evergreen Height 1' Spread 1' Shape Cascade, spreading Primary Foliage Color Greeny-brown with purple highlights Seasonal Foliage Color Greeny-brown with purple highlights Flowering Season Spring Flower Color Bluish-purple Environmental Characteristics Growth Rate Mod
