Lagerstroemia indica 'Cedar Lane Red' (Semi-dwarf) Hybridized by Cedar Lane Farms in Cullman, AL, Cedar Red produces blooms that are a true red. It has smooth, exfoliating bark; new leaves are red, turning dark green as they mature. This crape myrtle is considered a semi-dwarf, reaching a height of 3-4' in five years, and maturing to 6-10’. Note: Regardless of hardiness zone, all crape myrtles are subject to die-back at temps below 15 degrees. Probability of this happening is increased by pruning in fall or winter. Prune only in earliest spring.
