According to Wikipedia, he was a politician and "is often referred to as the Last Doge of the Republic of Genoa, being however Doge of the Ligurian Republic, moreover the only one, in the Napoleonic phase."Condition: In Italian. Measures 6.725"x9" inches, 279 numbered pages plus several pages of index. The subject of the book is on ancient Roman inscriptions. This antiquarian hardcover book is generally in very good condition. The binding I think was done much later, possibly late 1700s (I'm guessing Durazzo had it rebound?). The date on the title page is 1659, however the introduction is dat
