Lookdown Fish

Approx. Size: 2" to 3" Lookdowns are extremely laterally compressed fish with long snouts and small mouths. The fish are shiny and silver in color. The second ray on both its anal and dorsal fins is many times longer than the surrounding rays. The combination of these elements gives the Lookdown a distinct and unique appearance. For this reason, Lookdowns (especially small sized lookdowns) are often sought after for large premium aquariums. Spacious Tank Requirement: Lookdown fish require a very large tank, ideally 200 gallons or more, to accommodate their size and active swimming behavior. They need plenty of open space to swim horizontally, as they can grow up to 12-15 inches in length.
