- Dimensions: 21.4" tall x 25" wide x 2.25" deep - Oil on canvas - A charming scene of Provincetown, Massachusetts by the late Cape Cod artist, Bruce McKain. - Originally from Indiana, McKain moved to Provincetown in 1932 and served as the director of the Provincetown Art Association. His work has been shown in The National Academy, the American Federation of Arts Traveling Shows, the Cape Cod Art Association, the Sarasota Art Association, the New York World’s Fair, the University of Illinois, Jordan Marsh Exhibits and Hoosier Salons. He was the recipient of the Cape Cod Art Association’s first prize on numerous occasions, as well as the Richard Mitton Memorial Award, the Smith-Alsop prize, William H. Block Award and Thomas C. Werbe prize. His work is held in the permanent collection of Worcester Art Museum, Springfield Art Museum and Chrysler Art Museum, as well as numerous private collections.- This vintage painting has been newly reframed in oak.
