I just left camp in search for predators to research for an NGO, when I saw a blaze out of the corner of my left eye. I whipped my head around, fearing that it was a bush fire, but it wasn’t. There were zebras playing in a dried-up water pan! They were kicking up so much dust, that the rising sun backlit the dust and made it glow like fire! I quickly drove over to capture the incredible seen with my camera. My photos were ok, but I just knew I had to paint this once in a lifetime scene.
