Chabako No.5 - Tanabata Tea box
Overview Includes Return Policy Description:"At the heart of this set is a tea container with Tanabata maki-e (gold lacquerware), paired with a Karatsu ware piece painted like bamboo leaves. Continuing the bamboo theme, the other utensils were selected to match. Tanabata is a Japanese festival held in July, where people write their wishes on paper strips and hang them on bamboo branches. You’ll often see bamboo and boxes of tanzaku in malls and schools, inviting anyone to write down a wish. The Sendai Tanabata Festival is especially famous. Recently, I saw news from New York about an art event by Yoko Ono called Make Wish Tree, which pays homage to Tanabata. Many people wandered among trees adorned with countless wishes. Someone being interviewed said, “It’s interesting to see the wishes of people you don’t know,” and I felt the same. This tea basket is made for those with a wish in their heart." - SOUU DOBASHI Measurements:Approx. 8 in W x 4.5 in D x 6 in H Includes:Tea bowl: K
