A Fine Heavy Antique Ottoman Empire/Indo-Persian or Indian KULAH KHUD Helmet, circa. late 17th-18th century. Heavy gauge hemispherical skull, fitted with tall central spike, a pair of plume-holders (fitted with Bird of Prey talons) and sliding nasal bar at the front, pierced at the base for the long chain mail neck-defense. The skull has decorative chiseled and etched scenes overall depicting foliage, birds and inscriptions. The interior retains remnants of the original lining. A great looking helmet !
