A Good Antique English/Irish Brass Barrel Flintlock Blunderbuss by MORTON, DUBLIN, circa. 1780-1790.  17" octagon-to-round-to-cannon muzzle brass barrel struck with (2) "CROSSED SCEPTER" PROOFS, engraved "Dublin", and stamped with the Irish Police gun registry marks "K-D-513" (Kildare, Ireland).   The same Police registry mark is stamped on the butt-plate.  This blunderbuss originally had a spring bayonet mounted on the underside of the barrel which was removed later in its working life and a ram rod pipe added.  The stepped lock is maker signed "Morton" with high quality roller frizzen spring.  All of the brass furniture has been professionally cleaned and polished.  The blunderbuss is in it's original flintlock configuration and is in good mechanical working order.  32.75" overall length.
