A Exceptional American Revolutionary War Period Flintlock Officer's/Dueling Pistol by DURS EGG, LONDON, circa. 1775. 10", .64 caliber round iron smooth-bore, wedge-fastened, barrel engraved on the top flat "D. EGG LONDON". The barrel proof marks are located on the bottom of the breech and is fitted with a gold touch hole insert. The flat lock is signed by the maker "D Egg" with decorative engraving and a sliding safety. The pistol is in its original flintlock configuration with no replacement parts or restoration. All iron furniture includes an engraved trigger guard with acorn finial and butt-cap. The stock has a horn fore-end cap, fine checkering around the grip (in typical Durs Egg fashion) and overall is solid with 90% original varnish with very light scratches and dings from years of handling.
