Fender Dimension V
This is one fabulous bass, although I didn't think so when I bought it. At the time, I wanted a backup 5 string and had heard good things about it, and bought one without ever playing one. Yeah, I know.Well, I loved the neck right away and that made it worth saving because the tone did not do it. Since then, I have read others complain about the same thing - I found the higher frequency response to be strident and harsh.My favorite high end preamp replacement is the Darkglass Tone Capsule. I had one left over from an aborted project, and wasted no time installing it. What a difference!Well, things changed, as they do. I got tired of bouncing back and forth between a four and a five for my duo, and I bought a six string. My partner only plays rhythm, so I get to play all the leads. We only do originals, so it's a lot of fun. I had strung the Dimension E-C. (It's back to standard tuning now.) But with the six string, I can do all the tunes without having to change basses so the Dimension
