Like all +3 weapons, the DM will add +3 to the AC hit when using this weapon but the damage bonus has already been factored into the damage wheel. All damage-dealing spells cast by the wielder deal +3 Damage. It has no effect on spells emanating from items, scrolls, or spells cast by the wielder which do not inflict HP damage. Under most circumstances, either two free hands or a shield and one free hand are required to cast a spell. However, the magic contained within this weapon aids in spellcasting, thus allowing its owner to hold this weapon and cast a spell. However, this weapon does not grant the ability to simultaneously make a physical attack and cast a spell. If a spell under the influence of a staff of focus can affect more than one target, the caster gets a total of 3 extra points of damage from the staff, not +3 points per target.
