Alexakis Assyrtiko

Tasting Note: Bright yellow color with green hues. The bouquet displays aromas of passion fruit, mango and citrus. The crisp and dry finish makes it an exceptional wine to pair with an abundance of foods ranging from seafood, roasted pork, cured meats, poultry, and even lean steaks. About: Around 5,000 years ago, the Minoans settled the Southern Aegean, including the island of Thira (Santorini). Today, in Crete, farmers are cultivating the ancient variety Assyrtiko which originated from the island of Santorini. The Alexakis brothers source these grapes from high-elevation vineyards where ancient winepresses have survived since the Bronze Age. The wine is tank-fermented and aged sur lie for three months.
