Vietti Freisa Vivace Langhe DOC, 100% Freisa, Piemonte Italy Up for something a little different? Freisa, already a pretty obscure grape from the Piemonte region, is served chilled with a touch of frizzante. What a treat! After initial fermentation Vietti adds some held back unfermented juice into the bottle. The sugars give it a second round of fermentation and yield a dry, lightly bubbly wine (think vinho verde level of bubbles.) We get blackberry, strawberry, woody herbs, and surprising tannins. Serve chilled with a plate of salumi.
