Vera Cruz Amethyst is a variety of Amethyst that crystallizes in elongated prisms and terminated crystal points on a matrix of volcanic rock. Like other amethyst crystals, the color is caused by manganese and iron, with hues of lilac purple to deep violet. Vera Cruz Amethyst comes from the Las Vigas mining district in southeastern Mexico. Specimens measure between .8" and 1.8"
