Five Gaiter ~ Commander, Glossy Palomino
Chris Hess sculpted the charismatic Five Gaiter model in 1961. This gorgeous Palomino was made between 1962 and 1971. They feature four high socks, a bald face, and yellow ribbon with red Xs. As one of the early releases, the Palomino still has the ribbon-end sticking out past his mane, which is missing on later models. This fellow is in Excellent condition with three tiny rubs on his left shoulder and forearm, a couple on his right knee, tiny eartip and nostril rubs, a few tiny and pinpoint black marks which may come off with a bath, and mild age yellowing that you can reverse with some time spent sunbathing. He's well worth the effort, because he features unpainted eye whites, nostril shading, muzzle pinking, and beautiful highlights. No USA mark. Size: Traditional Breyer Model #53
