Welcome – Wool Applique

What a lovely way to welcome family and friends to your home or any favorite spot.  Approximately 12" x 17" this project is small enough to complete fairly quickly and offers a wonderful palette for your favorite embellishing ideas.  I used embroidery using different weight threads as well as silk ribbon, a few beads to add sparkle, and quilted it for a subtle visual element. Line drawing includes stitching lines.  Stitches used in my model are blanket stitch, stem stitch, colonial knots, stab stitch and running stitch.
