Foundry Sconce
The exposed cast metal of the Foundry Sconce emulates the moon's landscape. Consisting of a wide and shallow shade with a gently curved wall with a glass orb at its center, the Foundry Sconce shade is made at a local Catskills forge using the ancient art of sand casting and is available in manganese bronze, cast iron, or aluminum. The dimmable LED light source lives inside a 3-inch frosted glass orb. The verdigris is subtle due to the cast nature of the metal, but it's there. The textured cast metal of the Foundry Sconce resembles the surface of the moon. The fixture consists of a wide and shallow circular shade that references the shape of a loon's eye with a gently curved wall with a glass orb at its center Each piece is designed and hand-produced by Coil + Drift, a lauded New York's Catskill Mountains-based design studio known for its vividly three-dimensional and material-forward collections.
