This Sapotaceae at one time was considered native to Florida, now considered naturalized, but still rare and unknown. The fruits have an exotic flavor, a mixture between Pouteria campechiana, canistel, & Carica papaya. The pulp has with a sweet texture and is similar P. campechiana.
