From the Cutucu Mountains in Ecuador’s eastern Amazon, this plant was originally described as a Streptocalyx. A medium sized grower of especially fine merit, it forms a rosette of stiff, narrow leaves to 30 inches wide which blushes deep rose-red from the center outward when in bloom. The inflorescence is nested in the center and has a cottony-white appearance with blue flowers. Smaller than most other former Streptocalyx, it is manageable enough to grow in a 6 inch pot.
