A wide spreading rosette of green leaves with yellow variegation to about 30 inches across, with a large cone-shaped inflorescence of orange bracts, tipped in white. A spectacular species of Aechmea. Native to the Amazon forests where it is rarely in full sun, so this species does best in partial shade. Also is quite cold tender due to its warm native habitat.
