Boswellia Curcumin Blend

This highly considered blend was developed by our advisor, Dr. Alexander Shikhman, MD. Boswellia is an aromatic resin obtained from the Indian tree, Boswellia serrata, which has been used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine to control pain and inflammation. The main biologically active ingredient of boswellia is boswellic acid. Current research shows that boswellic acid expresses strong anti-inflammatory activity and inhibits leukocyte migration, suppresses antibody production and inhibits activation of classical and alternative complement pathways. In addition, boswellic acid expresses analgesic activity, prevents degradation of cartilage matrix and reduces bronchospasm. Curcumin [1, 7-bis (4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-1, 6 heptadiene-3, 5-dione] is an orange-yellow component of turmeric (Curcuma longa), a spice often found in curry powder.
