Jade Bead Dangling Earrings by Louis Rousselet

These jade bead earrings feature clusters of vibrant dark-apple-green-glass barrels cascading from a white-metal back. Some of the beads have striations. Though unsigned, these delightful 1950s creations feature the same horseshoe-shaped ear clip typically used by Louis Rousselet. What’s more significant is the way the earrings are constructed. The backs have a "metallic support in the shape of a rosette" to which the beads are wired. Florence Müller (in Costume Jewelry for Haute Couture) cites this "rosette" as a "signature" of this maker’s work, which was rarely signed on the jewelry.
