THE LEATHER Another interesting leather from the craftsmen at A.F. Gallun, these elk hides come from the midwest and are processed using a proprietary light-metal formula. The hides are wet stuffed with wax and oil, filling the leather, giving it the robust feel and stoutness required for bootmaking. An added bonus is that this tannage allows for the boots to break-in faster than vegetable or chrome-tanned leathers.  Deep rich browns with loads of pull-up resulting in a beautiful variation that results in unique patination. All preorder Bull Elk boots will be built with tan stitching and a brown tongue.
