Rhinocero (Cigarette holder)

This 2.75 inch long cigarette holder was made from deer antler in the shape of a rhinoceros head. The horn is half an inch long. The model is based on a black rhino. I like to bring out the natural beauty of the materials I use in a way that fuses the various media and allows for a functional finished piece of art. I let the material speak to me. Hand cut, carved and polished from natural deer antler shed. As a reminder of the beauty and majestic power of wild animals in the natural world. Both deer antler and the rhinoceros are symbolic of strength, power and masculinity.
