German WW2 Q64-M/42 Stahlhelm With unique fireman’s liner (read description)

RARE M42 Q64, lot #DN542 ND ***The paint is period Matte black NOT repainted. The liner has been replaced with a fireman’s liner. There’s a number of possibilities here, the most likely scenario is that the helmet was reissued postwar for German civil usage. However the liner could have been put in very late war as a result of the last ditch effort and used by the volksturm regardless the value is present, this is an authentic German lid made by Quist with a hard to come by German fireman’s liner.
