Elgon’s Kween District, Masha Coffee is a women-led venture founded by Sylvia Achebet, who transformed her family farm into a thriving specialty coffee enterprise. After decades of service as a community nurse, Sylvia brought the same dedication to empowering local households into coffee production—building Masha as a platform for smallholders, particularly women, to access specialty markets and improve their livelihoods. In 2024, she expanded beyond her home farm with a new washing station in Sipi Falls, perched at an impressive 2,400 meters, one of the highest elevations for coffee processing in Uganda. Masha sources cherries from both its own farm and neighboring producers, with four collection centers coordinating procurement.
