This quality ammonite specimen is from Morocco. It is kept whole to show the richly complex sections, defined by ammonitic suture marks, combine to make the complete fossilized shell.  This piece is unique as the final section ends with one side of the clear distinctive ammonitic sutures. The center spirals contain some play in iridescent color (known as ammolite). Ammonoids are a group of extinct marine mollusc animals in the subclass Ammonoidea of the class Cephalopoda. The earliest ammonites appear during the Devonian, and the last species vanished in the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event.   Material: Natural Fossilized Ammonite Weight: 330 grams Width: 97 mm Thickness: 37 mm at thickest point (with both slices together) Source: Morocco   Metaphysical Properties Fossils are a wonderful tool to assist you in moving from the old to the new and to be receptive to the fresh, innovative forces that are available to you.
