It is collected by locals near hot vents of an active volcano called Mount Papandayan. The peak is around 8,700 feet high, which is one of the tallest volcanoes in Indonesia. It is comprised of anhydrite, hematite, sulfur, and arsenic as well as other elements, the bumblebee jasper is actually an agate, although there is some debate between these two positions.
