A rare crystal. A polished trapiche emerald slice, in an open prong setting. Mined as early as 330 BC, emeralds were cherished by Cleopatra. The rarest of these crystals are trapiche, identified by their dark spoke patterning. Emerald is said to be a stone of unconditional love and friendship. It is the May birthstone.
