ERIC CLAPTON - LIVE 85 - 1 DVD

This concert is f...ing excellent! The last of the REAL E.C. performances, before slipping into a deep deep mainstream lull (from which, by the way, he has never awaken from). But what a treat this one is! An absolutely fab repertoire and awesome band, teaming up again with drummer Jamie Oldaker and backupsinger Marcy Levy, both members of E.C.s legendary 70s line-up 1973-1978. Furthermore you'll see legendary Stax-bassplayer Donald "Duck" Dunn, session-ace guitarist Tim Renwick and Chris Stainton on keyboards (sporting a REAL Hammond B3 organ!). Clapton's performance, along with rest of the band, is just fantastic. You can just tell how well these guys know eachother. It's an audio-epiphany, it is! The guys ROCK! What energy and great sound! Why the man then shortly afterwards decided to play only with musicians who obviously WILL NOT improvise on their instruments, unless it's stricktly written on their note-sheets, is just beyond daftness, I think (sorry, die-hard EC-fans!), and why
