Lewis Allen Alderson and Emma Elizabeth Roberts Alderson were married in Sheridan, Wyoming on December 15, 1892. They began a small cattle ranch about a hundred miles north in Rosebud County, Montana. Over the years, along with their three sons, they purchased small ranches around them, building their land into the large ranch that is still in the Alderson family and still known as the “Bones Brothers Ranch.”In 1915, oldest son Floyd left the ranch to become a stage coach driver in Yellowstone Park. With the advent of motion pictures in California, the young cowboy went to Hollywood and appeared in many silent westerns using the name “Wally Wales.” In 1936 he would change his stage name to Hal Taliaferro, the leading man in this adventure.Hal Taliaferro had starred in many silent cowboy adventures, but when the studio he worked for shut down, he moved to other studios, usually as a henchman, posse rider, or other background cowboy with no significant face time.
