For over fifty years, the Aquastar Benthos chronograph has been known for its exceptional capabilities and collectibility among dive watches, a rarity in the watchmaking industry due to its unique design and functionality, as well as its limited availability as surviving examples are scarce and highly valued by collectors. However, since its relaunch in 2020, the modern Aquastar catalog has not included this coveted vintage icon. This is because there were no modern center-mounted chronograph movements available for watchmakers to use.
