Traditional Irish Halloween Barm Brack - Half Loaf

The name "Barmbrack" …or bairín breac (speckled bread, as in speckled with fruit) is linked to the froth or "barm" leftover after fermenting beer/ale, which is mixed with fruit for the bread. Eaten all year round, it is only at Halloween that symbolic ‘items’ are added, each with a supposed fortune-telling significance for the year ahead…..a ring means you’ll get married or a coin that you’ll find riches, a thimble meant you’d be a spinster and a piece of cloth would mean poverty!! 1/2 Loaf Ingredients: Flour (Unbleached, unbromated wheat flour, malted barley flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), Raisins, Milk, Orange Zest and Juice, Sugar, Butter (Cream, Salt), Eggs, Active Dry Yeast, Salt.  Contains: Wheat, Milk, Eggs.
