TARPON | OCEANSIDE & BACKCOUNTRY | KEYS The Toad is one of a handful of classic designs I’m tying again for the ‘26 season. These patterns are classics for a reason and while tarpon flies have evolved significantly since many of these were first dreamed up they still have a place in today's high pressure fishery. The Toad is a Gary Merriman design popularized by Andy Mill. The genius of the Toad design is it’s very slow sink rate resulting from the unique yarn head profile.
