Mops Dwarf Mugo Pine - Pre-Bonsai - Pinus mugo 'Mops'
Pre-bonsai trees are bigger than our usual size and have thicker trunks and lower branches that make it an ideal bonsai subject - or let it grow on it's own and it will still be a very substantial miniature shrub. This genuinely dwarf miniature garden tree grows into a low, dense dome that stays compact. Mugo pines are an excellent candidate for any kind of miniature gardening because they can look like a miniature version of full-sized tree. They are super-low maintenance, heat-tolerant and cold hardy. The only caveat is to not let the soil dry out completely during the hottest months of the summer. The best feature for miniature gardening: the Mugo Pines are GREAT in pots and last for years before needing any repotting. (Feed lightly after a couple/few years if in a pot.) An excellent bonsai starter plant. Globed, uniform in shaped Growth: 2 to 3” per year Cold hardy zones 3-7, or to -40F Heat zones: 7-1 Full sun Regular water Let dry out a bit in between to avoid over waterin
