Before this shot I got permission to be at this location VERY early, well before dawn.The morning was SO humid and the darkness surrounding the live oaks was spectacular. A toad hopped up next to me on the side walk in the pitch black and scared me half to death.Your mind wanders at a place like this. A place of such beauty, but shrouded in such darkness.After getting my shots I left the plantation and went back to the hotel where my wife and kids were staying. We loaded up and went back to the plantation to do the tour and learn as much as we could about this location.The story is incredible and walking through the slave quarters brought tears to my eyes. If you ever have the opportunity to learn about a place such as this, I encourage you to do so.
