Houses and Birches, Mahwah

Artist Janet Dyer illustrates a line of suburban houses on a warm autumn day in Mahwah, New Jersey. Fiery shades of orange and scarlet beautifully dominate the towering trees and extend the entire terrain. "I love to paint birches, and I love periwinkle and orange, so I had fun with this painting," shares Janet. She paints with palette knives and brushes for a buoyant sense of motion with subtle impasto application.
