Artist Yelena Sidorova illustrates a redheaded girl roaming an old European town. She carries an umbrella in one hand and her dog nestled in a basket in the other. "Joyful day, joyful basket," says Yelena. The wind streams through her hair beautifully as she explores the whimsical streets in awe. Yelena made the artwork by painting silk with acrylics and dyes, using black and gold resist to control the colors from spreading. She steamed the piece as a final step to protect and preserve its brightness.
