The Golden Rule

When I was a young girl, I obsessively drew horses. My mother used to run out of paper! Recently the idea came to mind to use my eggshell-ing technique to create the horses. For the grey horse, the eggshells are stained with shades of black gesso and then collaged on the surface of the canvas. The bay horse is done with brown eggshells. I love the paradox of depicting such strong and powerful creatures by using such a delicate and fragile material.
